Our Junior Tennis Clinics follow our time-tested small group lesson format, and are limited to four (4) students per court with players matched for age and ability.
Introduces the forehand, backhand, serve and volley. Covers rules, scoring, etiquette, selection of equipment and basic strategy. The Quickstart System with smaller racquets and more controllable balls is used for the younger children. More success in a more controlled environment means more fun and therefore a lifelong interest in tennis.
Emphasizes ball control for those with some basic skills. Covers fundamentals in great detail.
Introduces balance and footwork, overhead, lob, low volleys, service return, strategy in singles and doubles. Consistency is the number one theme in these groups. Rallying a tennis ball is like a good conversation: there needs to be a back-and-forth.
Introduces more advanced strokes. Specialized drilling of basic skills . Supervised play . Covers use of spin, approach shots, handling of high deep balls, anticipation and rhythm. Attacking tennis, built upon a consistency foundation, is the focus of these groups.
- Based on the availability of students in the spring, the club cannot guarantee the number of students per clinic.
- All reasonable efforts will be made, but no guarantees can be given, to makeup missed lessons.
