Men's Programs

During the Winter season, Chestnut Ridge offers programs for all levels in both singles and doubles.

  • The Men's Singles League meets Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday evenings at 9:00pm for those players interested in singles.
  • The Men's Weekend Doubles, also known as Starter Tennis, program offers doubles play on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00am - 2:00pm. If these times do not suit your schedule, you may also look to join an existing contract court.
  • Players may also supplement their play with private lessons.
  • For senior players, the Silver Fox program offers doubles play on Tuesday and Wednesdays from 1:30pm - 3:30pm.

For the Spring/Summer season, the Chestnut Ridge Men's Weekend Doubles moves to the outdoor courts (Outdoor Starter). In addition, there are USTA teams which compete at the following levels: 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 and 5.0 Men's; 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5 Senior Men's; as well as both 7.0 and 8.0 Super Senior Men's.

Women's Programs

From September through May, Chestnut Ridge offers three doubles leagues for women players:

  • Women's Flex Time Doubles. Ideal for 3.0-3.5 players.
  • Women's Doubles Clinics. Beginner/Advanced Beginner level players, from 12:00-1:30pm on Mondays. Combines instruction with supervised play.
  • Women's Doubles Clinics. All levels from 3.0 to 5.0. Schedule is by arrangement.

There is also a high-level women's singles program:

  • Women's Singles Development Program.

And a women's program for seniors:

  • Silver Fox. Doubles play on Tuesday and Wednesdays from 1:30-3:30pm for seniors.

During May and June, the Women's Spring Instructional League is open to players at the 3.5 and 3.0 levels. From May through July, CRRC has A, B and C Teams that participate in the MITL (Metropolitan Interclub Tennis League) and HVL (Hudson Valley League) leagues. CRRC also has USTA Women's teams at the 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5 levels.

Competitive Adult Teams

Playing on a competitive team is an ideal way to meet players in your skill range and to keep you active, challenged and motivated year round. Chestnut Ridge hosts many competitive teams for the major local leagues, including the Hudson Valley League (HVL), the Metropolitan Interclub Tennis League (MITL), and USTA teams at all levels and age groups.

Contract Courts

Contract court time is attractive to players who wish to have a regularly scheduled game. Our helpful staff will assist any prospective player to find the most suitable level and time of day.

Group, Private, Semi-Private Lessons, and Drill Sessions

During both the indoor and outdoor seasons, Chestnut Ridge offers private, semi-private, and drill group lessons for adults. These types of lessons are set up by arrangement with members of the professional staff.

Our Men's Doubles Clinics are organized and run by Brad Breakstone. Brad teaches aggressive doubles within a percentage tennis framework and has helped many USTA players to get to the next level.

Men's Singles League

Chestnut Ridge Racquet Club features one of the best Men's Single's League programs in Westchester County. The program consists of 90 minutes of play per week with other players of the same skill level, on our award-winning har-tru courts, supervised by our elite pro staff.

Chestnut Ridge offers several options to players who want to play summer tennis. The options run the gamut from pay-as-you go league memberships to a full summer membership which includes weekend doubles paly as well as all league play in its price.

Women's Doubles Clinic

In our Women's Doubles Clinics technical skills and tactics are integrated so that players learn both when to hit a certain shot and how to hit it. Court positioning is a crucial element in playing better doubles. Positioning will be taught as well as modifications to the basic positions so that a player may get the most out of her game.

Women's Singles Development

The Women's Singles Development Program provides the missing link between lessons and matches. This is playing practice sets. Players are provided with a wide range of opponents, all at the 4.0-5.0 level. Participants are also guided and encouraged to add new dimensions to their games.
