Seth Roberts has been a part of Chestnut Ridge since 1985, first as a student and later, since 1991, as a teaching pro.  In high school, Seth was captain and played #1 singles for John Jay High School in Cross River from 1990-92, and made the all-county team his senior year.  From 1993-97, Seth played #1 singles and doubles for the Dickinson College men's team, and was captain his senior year.  In the 1990s, Seth was ranked in the top 25 in men's singles and doubles in the Eastern Tennis Association.

Seth is an important part of the Chestnut Ridge teaching staff.  He coaches both the 3.0 and 3.5 women’s USTA teams in addition to running the women’s beginner programs at the club.  For the junior program, Seth is an integral part of the Tuesday and Thursday Tournament Training groups.  During the summer, he runs the NWJTL junior tennis teams and has coached them to numerous championships.

Seth’s teaching philosophy centers on the fact that if mechanics are improved, consistency will improve, which leads to a much more challenging and exciting experience.  Seth also believes that the desire to run and get to one more ball than your opponent can make that small difference between winning and losing.
